Sale of a business
Michael Lim was fantastic in helping us with the contract and the sale of our café. He was professional, knowledgeable and made the whole process much easier for us. Michael explained everything clearly, responded to our questions quickly and made sure everything was handled properly from start to finish. Selling a business can be stressful, but we felt confident knowing Michael was looking after the legal side for us. We really appreciate all his help and would highly recommend Michael to anyone needing assistance with a business sale or contract.

Compulsory acquisition
I chose Project Lawyers and in particular Maysaa Parrino to assist me through the complex process of a compulsory acquisition. I found Maysaa an exceptional lawyer but most importantly a direct and strong communicator. Persistence, team work (thank you Matt for all your work as well) has provided the keys to achieve the best outcome possible. Thank you.

Choosing the right path to resolve a dispute
There are many pathways to resolve a dispute. At one end is simple negotiation between the parties, with no third party involved. At the other is litigation, where the parties go through the court process and, if the matter reaches a final hearing, a judicial officer decides the dispute.
Mediation and arbitration sit in between. A mediator works with the parties to resolve the matter but does not decide it, while an arbitrator does make a decision, often through a less formal and quicker process than court.

Does every dispute have to go to court?
No. A dispute can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or arbitration. Court proceedings are one option among several.
What is the difference between mediation and arbitration?
A mediator helps the parties reach their own agreement but does not decide the matter. An arbitrator makes a decision, often through a less formal and quicker process than court.
What happens if a matter goes to a final hearing?
The parties present their case and a judicial officer, usually a judge, decides the dispute.
What types of disputes do you handle?
We act in commercial disputes, consumer law and intellectual property matters, construction disputes and disputes in the Land and Environment Court, among others.
Which courts do you appear in?
We represent clients across courts and tribunals, from NCAT through to the High Court of Australia.
Do you act in NCAT?
Yes. We represent clients in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal as well as in the courts.
Can you help enforce a judgment?
Yes. If a judgment in your favour has not been paid, we can advise on the enforcement options available and take the steps needed to pursue payment.
